Trek/Safari payment schedule:

$500 to secure trek and/or safari dates and crews (non refundable)

60 days prior to arrival in Africa: remaining balance is due.

(arrival date = the date you are scheduled to arrive in Africa) 

Cancellation & Refunds:

Please know that at Masai Giraffe we will do everything possible to help you if circumstances such as illness or family emergencies require you to cancel or change your travel plans.  Please note, however, that due to costly park fees and reservations we must adhere to a strict cancellation and refund policy.

Notification of cancellation or changes to trek/safari plans must be made in writing to Masai Giraffe and are subject to the charges

$500 Kilimanjaro and/or safari deposit are non-refundable

Cancellation 30-60 days before arrival date: 50% of the package price

0-29 days or less before arrival date: 100 % of the package price

(arrival date = the date you are scheduled to arrive in Africa) 

Transfer/change of dates:

Transfer of dates can occur 61 or more days prior to the arrival date in Africa for a $50/person charge.  Within 60 days prior to departure it is not possible to transfer your departure date and cancellation fees apply.

Additional notes:

Baggage: We are happy to help you contact your airline provider if any of your baggage is lost or delayed by airlines.  We can assist with picking up delayed luggage, however, an additional airport trip charge will be assessed for each additional trip to Kilimanjaro International Airport. All luggage and personal effects are at owners risk throughout the tour.

Masai Giraffe Responsibility:   Please note that no partial refunds will be given for unused meals, hotel rooms, airport transfers etc., for any reason whatsoever. Masai Giraffe is not responsible for expenses incurred by trip members in preparing for the trip (e.g. non-refundable advance purchase air tickets, visa fees, equipment, etc.) or for any necessary additional travel arrangements should guests depart from the planned itinerary or embark from home before the group departure date. Accommodations are subject to change based on availability. We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance.

Masai Giraffe Ltd its employees, shareholders, officers, directors, successors, agents and assigns  do not own or operate any entity which provides third party goods or services for your trip, including, for example, lodging facilities and transportation companies. As a result, Masai Giraffe is not responsible for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any person or entity it does not own or control, nor for any act or inaction of any other third party not under its control.   In addition and without limitation, Masai Giraffe Ltd is not responsible for any injury, loss, death, inconvenience, delay or damage to personal property in connection with the provision of any goods or services whether resulting from but not limited to acts of God or force majeure, disease, illness, acts of war, civil unrest, insurrection or revolt, animals, strikes or other labor activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, food poisoning, mechanical or other failure of aircraft or other means of transportation or for failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart on time.
