NFL Wounded Warriors Project

In May 2011, Nickson Moshi and his Masai Giraffe crew lead a group of 4 Wounded Warriors to the summit of Kilimanjaro. The Wounded Warrior Project teamed up with the NFL to climb Kilimanjaro.  The crew included former New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi, former Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher, and former Philadelphia Eagles & St. Louis Rams tight end Chad Lewis.

Thank you for doing such an incredible job for our trip. You were a superstar! I loved getting to know you and your brother Manu. He is such a great guy. I also loved getting to know the other guides Ragi, Dustin, Chi Chi and Damien. They were all awesome.

I was impressed with Masai Giraffe because you guys all went the extra mile to make sure we had a great hiking experience. One of the things that set you apart from the other guide services was how you would sing each time we came into camp. It was a little gesture, but it was one of the coolest parts of the trip. I loved coming into camp each night and watching Tembo sing and dance with all the porters and guides.

Thank you for your patience in working with our group. You were so good to the Wounded Warriors. It was a trip that I will never forget.

I have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro twice with Nickson Moshi. First time, in Oct 2006 and again July of 2008. I can say by experience that Nickson and his entire team are there to help you successfully reach the summit. They do everything they can to help you achieve your goal. During the climb from your first step to your last step coming down, they are paying attention to how you are doing. They know if you need to rest, drink water, eat, you are having trouble carrying your pack, they know and assist you. If your pack is too heavy they will reduce the weight or carry it for you. You won't even have to ask, they know.
More amazingly, they do all of this willingly and happily. There attitudes and work ethic are exemplary. I highly commend Masai Giraffe for both a climbing and safari. If you make your arrangements with Masai Giraffe you will not have to be concerned about any travel, lodging or eating arrangements for the entire climb or safari.
That is a wonderful experience.
